Federal Pell Grant is a grant ranging from approximately
$400 to $4731.00 per year.

Federal
Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is
an additional grant awarded to Pell recipients. The amount is
based on financial need and available funds.

- New
Jersey Part-Time Tuition Aid Grant is
for County College Students Within the limits of available funding,
this program provides pro-rated awards to New Jersey county college
students taking 6 - 11 credits per term, who are otherwise eligible
for the Tuition Aid Grant Program. Click

The
maximum award for students enrolled half-time (6-8 credits) is $205.00
per term. Students enrolled three-quarter time (9-11 credits) may
receive a maximum of $715.00 per term.

Jersey Educational Opportunity Grant (EOF)
-- awarded on the basis of academic criteria and financial need.

Jersey Bloustein Distinguished and Urban Scholars -- High
School students in their senior year are selected by their high
school counselor and awarded by the Higher Education Student Services
Association (NJHESAA) on the basis of academic achievement to
students attending college full time.

Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Rewards Scholarship (NJSTARS) -- Beginning
in 2004, New Jersey High School students who graduate in the top 20%
of their class are eligible for two years of free tuition and fees.
To qualify you must have attended your full senior year and graduated
from a New Jersey High School. You must enroll in an associate degree
program of a New Jersey Community College in the county in which you
reside. Out of county residents will be considered, only if your county
college does not offer the program in which you are interested in
pursuing. You must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 non-remedial credits
every semester and have a GPA of 3.0 at the start of your second year. You must apply for financial aid by completing
the FAFSA and the Brookdale Community College NJ
STARS Student Contract.

NJSTARS II--Students who attend Brookdale FULL TIME for no more than 5 terms and graduate with an Associate Degree and a 3.0 GPA may qualify for free tuition and fees at a public College or University in New Jersey.
- ACADEMIC COMPETITIVENESS GRANT
-- An Academic Competitiveness Grant will provide up to $750 for the first year of undergraduate study and up to $1,300 for the second year of undergraduate study to students who are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, and who had successfully completed a rigorous high school program, as determined by the state or local education agency and recognized by the Secretary of Education. Second year students must also have maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. The program will be available for the first time for the 2006-07 school year for first year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2006 and for second year students who graduated from high school after January 1, 2005. The Academic Competitiveness Grant award is in addition to the student's Pell Grant award.

Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan -- $5500
for first year students and $6500 for 2nd year students enrolled in a program that is a full academic
year program. Repayment begins six months after student drops to
less than half time status; student has up to 10 years to repay.
Current interest rate is 0% in-school (subsidized by federal government)
and beginning July 1, 2008 a fixed rate of 6.8% cap during repayment.

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan -- If a student is not eligible to receive funds
from the subsidized stafford loan, a combination of subsidized and unsubsidized loans may not exceed $9500 for first year students and $10,500. for second year students. The interest
and repayment terms are the same, except interest is not subsidized
and will accrue during in-school and six-month grace periods.

Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) -- Annual loan
limit is the dependent student`s cost of education minus any estimated
financial aid received. Repayment begins within sixty days of disbursement,
or 6 months after the student stops attending at least 6 credits, with up to ten years to repay. Interest rate is a fixed 7.90%.

CLASS -- Annual loan limit is the cost of education minus any
estimated financial aid received. Three repayment options: 1) defer
all payments until after graduation; 2) pay interest only; 3) pay
interest and principal. Students must take full Stafford eligibility
first.
- Alternative Loans -- Alternative loans should be a last resort for students whose financial aid package already includes Stafford Loans and other sources of financial aid and still needs additional funding to meet their educational costs. Annual loan limit is the cost of education minus any estimated financial aid received. Eligibility is determined by the lender. The borrower must be credit worthy and have established annual income, or need a co-signer.
